Leda Kane was a Rand Protectorate citizen and the wife of Jared Kane. In 2004, she took care of Daniel Jackson when the latter was badly wounded after the bombing of the Rand capital by the Caledonian Federation's missiles. She died of the Ori plague in 2005 after she refused to embrace Origin.

At Stargate Command, Jared Kane tells SG-1 and General Hank Landry Leda's fate. When a Prior came in the Rand Protectorate to preach Origin and urge the people to embrace it or not, a desease stroke all the country. The Prior promised to cure the ones who would accept Origin, but Leda (who was infected by the virus) refused the bargain and died.
