Ryder is a member of the Destiny expedition. In 2009, she switched her body with Dr. Tyman to treat the wounded people following the invasion of Destiny by Lucian Alliance.
Biography
Along with 80+ people, Ryder had to evacuate the Icarus base when Lucian Alliance attacked the base in 2009. She then was stranded abord Ancient vessel Destiny, several million light years away from Earth (SGU: "Air", Part 1).[1]

Following the invasion of Destiny by Lucian Alliance, Ryder switches her counciousness with Dr. Tyman's throught the Tau'ri long range communication device.
