The United States of America (more commonly known as the United States or simply abbreviated USA or US) are a country located on Earth, in the North American continent.
Overview
The USA are composed of 50 states. The capital is Washingtion, D.C. The country is ruled by an elected President of the United States, a parliament and a senate (SG1: "Inauguration", "Politics").

History
In 1939, to prevent Nazis to take it the Achilles transported the Stargate found in Giza from Egypt to the USA. There, Professor Langford, with the help of the US Air Force, made experiment on the Stargate as President Roosevelt thought it was some kind of weapon. But in 1945, after the disapearance of Dr. Ernest Littlefield through an activated Stargate, the military stopped all experiment and stored the Stargate inside a military warehouse located in Washington, D.C. (Stargate: Continuum, SG1: "The Torment of Tantalus", "1969").
Evolution
Stargate SG-1 Season 1 (1997/1998)
Soon after the discovering of the Stargate network, the President of the United States decides to create Stargate Command including nine SG teams to make interplanetary travels through the Stargate.

- Despite the fact that all the main action is taking place in the USA, most of the filming of the Stargate series occured in British Colombia, Canada.
