Ginn was part of the Lucian Alliance against her will, and took part of the invasion of Ancient spaceship Destiny in 2009. After surrending herself in the name of Kiva's faction to the ship's crew, she has been allowed to remain onboard. She has been killed by Simeon when her consciousness was switched with Dr. Amanda Perry's. Her consciousness remained yet Eli Wallace had to quarantine her's and Perry's in order to preserve the integrity of the ship and the crew.

Character's evolution
"Incursion", Part 1 (2009)
Ginn is part of Kiva's faction who invade Destiny through the Stargate.
This is a logical deduction as Julie McNiven has been cast for Season 2 and appeared for the first time in "Intervention".</ref>
