The Ancients (also called Ancestors by the Pegasus galaxy inhabitants, Lanteans or Anquietas in their own language) were a group of Alterans who left their home to flee an other group called the Ori. They settled first in the Milky Way galaxy where the spread life. They eventually left the galaxy for the Pegasus galaxy where they spread life once more. 10,000 years ago, the latest Ancients fled their planet for Earth. Some of them died. The others ascended on a higher plane of existence.
