Vaitiare Hirshon-Asars (born Vaitiaré Eugenie Hirshon on August 15, 1964 in Tahiti, French Polynesia and previously known as Vaitiare Bandera) is an actress and a fashion designer based in the United States. She portrayed Sha're/Amaunet in the Stargate SG-1 TV series.

- When Bandera was shooting "Secrets", she was pregnant of Michael Shanks' daughter. She had to pretend to give birth (the Harcesis Shifu), yet she wasn't at term.[1]
- The Bandera's full frontal nude scene in "Children of the Gods" has been removed and recut in the 2009 Brad Wright's Stargate SG-1: Children of the Gods - Final Cut.
- Bandera originally auditioned for the role of Shau'ri in Stargate, the 1994 film, but ultimately lost to Mili Avital. She was offered the role in the following television series Stargate SG-1 after auditioning again for the same part.[1]
