• Why did the Wraith come for culling just a few moments after the Atlantis expedition's arrival on Athos?

Answer: When John Sheppard found a necklace inside the Athos cave and gave it back to Teyla Emmagan who lost it years ago, he unwittingly activated a beacon device located in the necklace using his ATA gene (SGA: "Rising", Part 1, "Suspicion").
