East Germany was a country located in Europe.
History
In 1982, a commando team, led by Colonel John Michaels and including Captains Jack O'Neill and Charles Kawalsky tried to extract a Russian agent, Boris. The mission failed and Michaels was killed by a sniper there (SG1: "The Gamekeeper").
Evolution
On P7J-989, Colonel Jack O'Neill and Teal'c are trapped by the Keeper in an hallucination where they live again and again the events of the 1982 failed mission in East Germany.
