Teal'c [pronounced ˈtiːəlk with an apostrophe], is a Jaffa who was First Prime of the Goa'uld System Lord Apophis. After he betrayed his "god", he joined the Stargate Command to become part of the SG-1 team during over 12 years. He originated the Jaffa Rebellion with his mentor Bra'tac, and freed the Milky Way galaxy from the Goa'uld and the Ori along with his teammates and allies.
Biography
Background
Teal'c (name given by his father which means "Strength" in Goa'uld language[2]) was born circa 1899[1] on a world under the domination of the Goa'uld System Lord Cronus. His father, Ronac, served as First Prime of Cronus. Because he failed to win an unwinnable battle, Ronac was murdered by Cronus, and Teal'c and his mother were exiled to Chulak (SG1: "Fair Game", "Threshold"). When he was a young boy, he received his first Prim'ta, the larval form of the Goa'ulds, which gave him a perfect health and long life. He then became a true Jaffa (SG1: "Children of the Gods", "Bloodlines").
