Tell me who is this Tian. There is no dialogue mentioning his name and his name is not written in the episode visible ending credits. It may be Chris Redmond who portrays this character yet according to me, the character's name is only speculation. If I see, this name only appears in IMDb credits, and as uncredited. You know, that's weird. According to IMDb, Christopher Redmond has only portrayed three minor characters including "Icon". Moreover, only an archived version of the Sci-Fi website mentions this character positionned above official aired minor episode credits with the name of "Chris Redmond". I think they put the name on IMDb according the Sci-Fi website. We cannot find any picture of this actor on the internet. Conclusion; I cannot take for granted what Stargate Wikia wrote on this character. Unless you have seen the two other movies with him and match the actor, this character would have to change its name, as well the name of the actor. Soldier (Children of the Gods II)

For the record, I noticed interesting thing, in original version when both soldiers are shot they made same scream, probably filmmakers used same sound mix, yet in final cut this is fixed and each have different one. :-)

2. BTW: In Icon as Rand Guards were uncredited: Darren Hird, Raoul Ganeev (Survived attack on Rand Capital along with our Tian and later they take bunked back with SG Teams) and Giorgio Miyashita (All we know is he was added to scene where bunker is re-taken only to be shot by rebels).

Hi, I thought at this moment it was the wrong guy, but I was wrong. The second reason is the format, PNG. I think it's better to use JPG files with a small compression ratio even if this file format is more destructive. You gain place and space on the disk. I only have all episodes in DVD screen resolution (maximum resolution 1024x576p). So if you still have this episode in high definition and use VLC Media, save your screenshot in "jpg" format, crop it at the format 1:1.25 and replace the picture; be my guest. Pernaux shot by guard(s) - details

Hi, I know we were talking about this but I have some q which I wonder, even in case it is not important.

1. We can see only one muzzle flash coming from weapon of Guard IV, yet sound mix make us hear shower of bullets.

2. We never see Guard III fire. He just point weapon against Pernaux, but visible muzzle flash came only from Guard IV's weapon. I was told that if Guard III fire, there would be at least smoke coming from weapon but in fact there's nothing.

3. Now as Guard IV raise his weapon, we can safely assume that he is one who shot Pernaux in shoulder.

4. The Guard III meanwhile slightly lower weapon but it still isn't enough to shot him in leg.

5. Pernaux is shot in leg and next frame in shoulder.

6. The Guard III wouldn't have time shot Pernaux after his teammate and sent his bullet to Pernaux's leg yet before Guard IV did in shoulder.

The whole sequence is sloppy.

Hi Matthew,
What you tell in those six points are not incoherences, it is what we call "goofs", meaning some kind of mistakes wanted or not, put on screen because of the many steps needed to make a movie or a series' episode. You say that this sequence is sloppy, you're right. Many reasons for that are the cost, the time (20 episodes per year + Stargate Atlantis, etc.). For the story itself, it's not important as it brings nothing interesting to move on (as I told you before). Yet one can notify it but not in the incoherences pages. For that you can create a "Goofs" section on the episode page, based on the template you can find here for instance. And please, do it yourself, it's the reason for being of a wiki. According to the script and the first images, SG-10 was already on the planet to investigate why the local population was extinct recently, and at the moment they were on the planet, the black hole appeared (first images). Boyd was a military and certainly a scientist for, like Jack O'Neill said, he reminds him a little bit of Carter. Hi Matthew.
I don't really care about Stargate Wikia (and you know why), except for checking if I don't forget anything regarding the canon. As you may notice, I had many troubles to build those wikis (Disagree with Wikia's policy, ShoutWiki's first outage, Escyos' stuff and "fight", ShoutWiki's second outage, Wikkii.net permanent outage, return on ShoutWiki, and at last, my personal server which is working quite well and where I can do whatever I want to improve the wikis). Because of all of this, I lost a lot of my precious time (almost four years) and I need to establish a solid foundation on the universe itself. It's long, I want to put things right and for that, I have to rewrite the articles to fit this wiki's standards both in English and French. In a nutshell, the purpose of the Semantic Stargate Wikis (English, French, may be Spanish, and any other wanted language) is to have a fully accurate semantic database about the Stargate universe, meaning you write an accurate information on a character, an object, etc. You can use this information anywhere else so you don't have to write it twice (or more).
I offered you to build a SSW in your own language, but you declined the offer. It's an interesting thing to do. You could use the English templates and translate them in Czech language and start something good. Anyway, sorry if I can't go faster but it's not the only thing I do and right now, I can't tell you what to do exactly because all the background is not fully set today. 1. You're right, the address is wrong. In the episode, we actually can see a footage of the Chulak address (see this image from "Children of the Gods", remove the point of origin and compare it to your link). This was coming from Wikia and certainly from the official Stargate magazine who was made by fans. You can remove it as this information is not "accurate".
2. It's an assertion from General Hammond; it seems that there are some traces of civilization, yet we don't know if they were human or not.

And I do understand the reason why you decline the offer. I have the same issue in French; some points are missing, some others change and/or contradict the original version. Update: This is the first (and only on screen) address that appeared on the computer. At the end of the episode, O'Neill states that the first address is a black hole. 1. It's actually hard to answer this, the time is slowing down on the event horizon from the prospective of Jack O'Neill, and according to Samantha Carter, the planet has been certainly ripped appart (and the inhabitants with logicaly). That's the mystery of the quantum physics and black holes particularly.
2. This episode has no recap nor flashback. So according to one event following another (first, the planet, then the sun, then the white dward, then the black hole, then SG-10 running in slow motion to the Stargate) the black hole initiate its creation when SG-10 was on the planet and Boyd saw it. 1. If you see frame by frame at the begining of the episode, you see the planet, then its sun, and then a bright distant light which is the white dwarf, and a line of the planet sun's matter begining to be absorbed.
2. The white dwarf is collapsing, then the black hole appears at the place of the dwarf. A black hole sucks all the matter and it absorbed the dward so you don't see its light anymore.
3. The main reason is that it was a new born black hole with a small accretion disk. The other shown in the franchise are very much older.

1. Yes but use the "Item" model page button when you create it and write Science in the "item's type" field.
2. Remember that the topic is the Stargate universe, you can use a {{WP|Black hole}} in the "External links" section. Semantic Stargate Wiki is not Wikipedia, remember?

Hi, Thanks for your concern! Regarding those guards, I always liked extras. I know most of people don't care for them but for me those characters like: Rand Guards, Marines, Jaffas, Soldiers etc. are somehow interesting.

As you can see, I (with help of another user on Stargate Wiki and some Stargate actors) get names of some uncredited extras.

Answer: according to Samantha Carter's statement they should be dead "Their bodies will be pulled apart by increasing tidal forces.", yet time is slowing down near the black hole and SG-10 are still trying to save themselves. 1. There is no need to rename the pages. The names at the top of the infobox are used in a semantic field, and when you go to the articles where SG-10 is involved with a semantic query, (like P3W-451 or SG-10 itself, you will see "Male" and "Female" in the results. That's the most important.

2. Let it go for the moment, if needed, we will merge the pages later.

First, "real world" technically speaking, it is impossible for a black hole to generate istelf instantly. But remember that we are in a TV show and things must go quickly in a 42 minutes long episode. As I can see, in the in-universe prospective, the SG-10 team was already on the planet before the formation of the black hole. They certainly saw the white dwarf becoming nova (ultra bright light) even with an atmosphere, and as a smart person as said O'Neill (may be an astrophycist like Carter), Boyd "saw" the immediate danger initiaded by this astronomical phenomenon and urged his team to fall back to the gate, but unfortunately they were too late. This kind of characters (extras) makes me see the episode almost frame by frame in order to catch their whole actions (a few actually), so it takes time to do it, especially when the extra disappears then reappears far more later. There were only two known people in "Rising", Part 1 who were able to activate devices with the ATA gene; Sheppard and Beckett. And Beckett could only do that with a lot of concentration (according to Weir's words). Ford doesn't have the gene so he couldn't start and fly the Jumper. Beckett couln't certainly have enough time to concentrate in order to start the jumper. Regarding Stackhouse (who possesses the gene as well), he may already drowned in the recon teams like Sumner. Hi, Thanks for edits you did on Boyd's page. Will you also explain his death? He logically died long time before Cromwell.

Though if Cromwell was torn apart, why we see his body together being sucked? It is that to save money or since he wasn't torn apart there? The iris broke since it was attracted by huge gravity but it wouldn't be torn apart if it wasn't held by Stargate. If it would be attracted and not held it would simply be sucked in. Things that are more far can't be torn apart if Boyd is not yet. In other words, he can't be alive when titanuim iris was torn apart. You explained Cromwell's instant death in SGC. And Boyd was on the planet so it is impossible he and other SG-10 members would be still alive. Therefore Vorash system supernova has nothing to do with that. It is logical deduction that Boyd died before Cromwell did. It doesn't make sense for him and rest of SG-10 to be alive when Cromwell was torn apart. Some things may have not been important but this is obvious. We saw how titanium iris was torn apart, it means Boyd was also. There's no way for the gravity be more huge in SGC than on P3W-451. It doesn't make much sense currently. What I mean is: Boyd's death in this episode is obvious as he was on the planet, closer to black hole than SGC, but the gravity field expanded even in SGC and torn apart iris which is pure titan that is stronger than human's body. Boyd was on planet, closer than iris so it is logical he was torn apart earlier than iris was. Likely just Stargate was in accretion disc as planet was ripped apart. Clearly nothing was left there the Stargate was on. Just accretion disc with stargate affected by tidal forces of black hole. Based on what we saw as Iris was torn apart followed by Cromwell it means nothing on planet was left.
