- Higginson has replaced Jessica Steen for the rôle of Elizabeth Weir in Stargate SG-1 Season 8 onwards.
- Higginson was supposed to reprise her role in the Stargate Atlantis episode "Ghost in the Machine". The actress turned down the offer. The storyline has eventually been rewritten and Michelle Morgan (who portrayed FRAN in "Be All My Sins Remember'd") took back the character of Weir.
