Stargate SG-1, "Emancipation"

An anesthetic drug has been created by Abu on planet Simarka.

Overview

Abu has created this anesthetic with plants. This drug is able to remove the pain induced by a fire arrow wound (SG1: "Emancipation").

Evolution

"Emancipation" (1997)

When SG-1 are inside Moughal's tent on Simarka, the latter tells that trade will replace the ancestral laws. Abu, Moughal's son, says that he's doing medicine and making some powerful drugs from plants. When they make a tour of the village, Abu shows to Jack O'Neill and Daniel Jackson a villager with a clean wound on his left shoulder. Abu tells them that it was a wound made by a fire arrow and at the moment he put the drug on the wound, the pain disappeared.

Later, as SG-1 return home, Captain Samantha Carter asks Daniel Jackson if this anesthetic could be a miracle drug on Earth. Daniel reply that anyway, somebody else will take the credit as they cannot reveal the origin of the drug.
