Continuity errors
This is a listing of continuity errors in the different Stargate series and movies.
Stargate, the movie
- All Jack O'Neill's teammates are credited as "Lieutenant" in the ending credits. However, when you watch their visible military ranks on screen, it doesn't fit at all: Kawalsky carries Lieutenant Colonel insignas, yet he is called "Lieutenant" by O'Neill who should call him "Colonel" instead; Ferretti carries Technical Sergeant insignas, Brown is Senior Airman, Freeman is Staff Sergeant, and Porro and Reilly are Airmen First Class.
Stargate SG-1
Retroactive continuity
- Walter Harriman's name has evolved during the series. First, Gary Jones was simply credited as "Technician". Then, "Davis"' name appeared on his tag name. After, the full name "Norman Davis" is visible several times. And then, in "2010", Jack O'Neill is calling him "Walter" (impro of Richard Dean Anderson). And at last, in "Avalon", Part 1, he is "officially" introducing himself as "Walter Harriman" to lieutenant Colonel Cameron Mitchell when the latter is coming for the first time in Stargate Command.
Season 1
"Children of the Gods"
- Kawalsky's rank is changing depending of his outfit; on his combat fatigues, we can see Captain insignas, and on his class A uniforme, we can see Major insignas. He is called Major by Major General George Hammond, and later by Senator Robert Kinsey (SG1: "Politics").
- Weterings states to the guards who are taking her in the Chulak palace implantation room and to Teal'c that she is a Sergeant of the United States Air Force. Yet, at the beginning of the episode, we can clearly see Senior Airman insignas on her fatigues' sleeves.
Stargate Atlantis

Recurring insconsistencies
- In every ending credits he appears, Darren Becker is credited as "Pvt" (Private). Yet, according to his combat fatigues he's wearing in "Air", Part 2, he is part of the US Air Force and should have the rank of "Airman".
- In credits or in the dialogues, Hunter Riley is ranked as Sergeant. However, on his outfit, he's carrying Senior Airman insignas.
