Character's evolution
Stargate (1995)
Soon after the discovery of the point of origin by doctor Daniel Jackson, a recon team, led by Colonel Jack O'Neill is set up. Freeman is part of the team and passes through the Stargate's wormhole.
Outside the Abydos pyramid, Freeman builds the base camp, complaiying about the planet's heat. He urges Ferretti to speak to Jackson in order to get back home as quickly as possible. He stays at the base camp while O'Neill, Kawalsky and Brown track Jackson who has been pulled by a local domestic animal.
Later, Freeman established a radio connection with Colonel O'Neill and passes him Ferretti. He receives order to secure the base camp.
When a sandstorm blows on Abydos, while Ferretti tries to communicate with O'Neill, Freeman says it's impossible to communicate in these conditions. Ferretti orders Freeman, Reilly and Porro to fold back inside the pyramid. Ferretti tries to communicate again, but Freeman says it a waste of time.
The small group is surprised when a big pyramidal spaceship is landing on the pyramid, shaking it. All of them cock their weapons, ready to fight. While he attempts to avoid Horus Guards, Freeman is striken by one of them.
Freeman is inside a watered pit with Kawalsky, Ferretti, and later O'Neill. The next morning, they stand together in front of the pyramid, sentenced to be executed by Daniel Jackson. Jackson sees the sun light emited by O'Neill's lighter held by Skaara as well as the weapons. Suddendly, he turns back the staff weapon and fires on Ra and his guards. Meanwhile, the four prisoners escape and retrieve back their weapons. An Horus Guard fires and deadly shoots Freeman. Kawalsky wants to tack back Freeman but he is held by the crowd who wants to protect him.
Notes
- Freeman is credited as "Lieutenant" in the movie ending credits (the same for all O'Neill's team members). However, on his fatigue's sleeves, we can clearly see Staff Sergeant insignas.[1]
- Freeman's nationality is implied as he is part of the US Air Force.
