Character's evolution

Stargate (1995)

In the Cheyenne Mountain complex[1] sub-level 28, Barbara Shore, heavliy loaded with folders, and Gary Meyers meet Doctor Daniel Jackson, who has been hired by Catherine Langford for translating hieroglyphs. She explains to Jackson that this place used to be a missile silo. Then they come in a huge room where a big circular coverstone is standing.

Jackson get straight to his works, notices a sort of cuneiform writing and fixes errors on the Meyer's translation of the cartouche. When Jackson asks who made this translation, Shore and Langford glare at Meyers.

Once the translation done, Colonel Jack O'Neill takes command of the project and states that this coverstone is 10,000 years old, much to Jackson's suprise who thought it was only 5,000 years old. Shore tells Jackson that the sonic and radio carbon tests are affirmative. Jackson asks her if they found something beneath the coverstone. She says no, but they found something more interesting. Then, Colonel O'Neill states that those informations have become classified.

Two weeks later, Shore, Meyers, and many military are in the meeting room where Jackson states his discorvery that the seven symbols are needed to make interplanetary travels. Shore and Langford shake hands and smile when Major General W.O. West orders to show Jackson the Stargate. Shore comes into the control room when Jackson and Meyer are looking for the seventh symbol.

After establishing a connection to a remote gate, a probe is sent through the gate. Shore notices that the probe is guiding itself. Finaly she states that the probe has locked itself somewhere in the Kaliam galaxy.[2]
