Biography
Cole teamed up with Dr. Kleinhouse and others, and did archaeological research on special chambers in Mayan temples and repeatedly petitioned the Mexican government for permission to excavate inside the temples but without success. Finally in 1997, they won their case, and with the agreement of the government, began excavations in a Mayan temple (SG1: "Hathor").
Character's evolution
"Hathor" (1997)
Cole, along with Dr. Kleinhouse and another member of her team, push through and gain access to a chamber inside a Mayan temple. Surprised, they discover what appears to be a burial chamber with an Egyptian sarcophagus. Kleinhouse refers to Dr. Daniel Jackson who theorized about a possible intersection of ancient civilizations. Cole recognizes the symbol of the Egyptian goddess Hathor. Kleinhouse brushes the sand and reveals a stone which he manipulates. The sarcophagus opens to reveal Hathor who asks where Ra is. Seeing that the archeologists are not Goa'uld, she uses her hand device to neutralize the three people present. They die brutally.
