McAtee was an US Air Force Staff Sergeant. He has been killed by Apophis' Serpent guards in 1997.
Biography
Nothing is known about McAtee, except his rank (Staff Sergeant), and his affectation in 1997 (guarding an inactive tarp-covered Stargate for Project Giza seems abandonned at this time) (SG1: "Children of the Gods").
Character's evolution
"Children of the Gods" (1997)
In sub-level 28, McAtee is playing poker with four teammates, including Airman First Class Fryatt and Senior Airman Weterings. Serving the cards for the hand, he pests against it. About Weterings' concern, he tells her that they've been shipping personnel out of here for months. He doesn't care when Weterings says that the tarp is moving as he just wants to play.
Suddenly, the tarp flies off, the Stargate activates and kawooshes. McAtee passes out guns and stands in front of the Stargate ramp, his weapon ready. He warns Weterings as she picks up a weird metallic sphere.
Serpent guards come through the Stargate. McAtee orders them to identify themselves but he has no response. Just after he asks them to release Weterings who has been caught by Teal'c and subdued by Apophis, Serpent guards open fire. He fires back, yelling and killing one of them, but he is finaly shot by a staff weapon blast on his chest, killing him instantly.
Soon after, his body is carried in the Stargate Command infirmary.
Notes
- In "Children of the Gods" ending credits, J.B. Bivens' character is credited as "Guard #1". However, we can clearly see his last name on the jacket just prior the Stargate's kawoosh.
- McAtee's rank is visible on his jacket's sleeves.
- His nationality is deducted as he was part of the US Air Force army.
