This planet has a red soil around the Stargate area which is filled with many aligned monoliths.

History
For some reason, an unknown alien force with advanced technology his living on the planet and is guarding the Stargate area.
Detailled evolution
"Solitudes" (1997)
During a recon mission on P4A-771, SG-1 team is taken under fire and surrounded by unknown enemy forces, probably Goa'uld according to Teal'c. Forced to come back by the Stargate, they all engage through the wormhole but an enemy blast shoots the Stargate which overloads. Doctor Daniel Jackson and Teal'c are propelled with a great velocity on the Stargate ramp while Colonel Jack O'Neill and Captain Samantha Carter end up inside an unknown icy cave. Daniel falls unconscious.
When the Stargate is fixed, MSgt. Walter Harriman dials the planet and sends a MALP through the gate. There, no sign of Col. O'Neill or Cpt. Carter is detected and the MALP is quickly destroyed by a blast. Because of this, Major General Hammond orders there will be no attempt to send a rescue mission.
"Politics" (1998)
During an audit with Senator Robert Kinsey and Lieutenant Colonel Samuels, Colonel Jack O'Neill suggests to dial P4A-771 and send the Senator here to "see how long he would last".
Notes
- Teal'c supposes that the blast may be Goa'uld technology. However he's not sure and nothing can say the Goa'uld had empowered the planet as there is no mention of them anymore in the episode. Because of this, the unknown alien race will remain "unknown". All speculation about this will be considered as fanwanking and will be removed from the wiki.
- During the dialing sequence in "Solitudes", the address shown on the computer is actually an archive footage of the Abydos gate address. Since we can't have two destinations for one address, this is obviously a goof, certainly used by the producers to save money, even if P4A-771 is part of the Stargate canon. Because of this, the gate address doesn't appear on the infobox.
